Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to finish a quilt?

Every quilt is different, and the completion time will depend on a variety of factors. However, 6-8 weeks is the average time to completion once your quilt has been begun.

Where are your quilts made?

Unlike some online quilters, all of my work is custom designed and hand made in my Coatesville, Pennsylvania studio.

How many t shirts do I need to make a quilt?

Many online quilters provide only a single option, typically a lattice type design that will require a specific number of shirts for each quilt size. The benefit of a custom designed quilt is that you can decide how many shirts you want to use and what size quilt you are interested in and I can accommodate you. I have designed quilts with as few as 5 shirts to as many as 25.

What side of the shirt do you use?

I will use whatever graphics you would like to incorporate in your quilt. Some quilters want all of their blocks the same size, usually using only the large graphic from the front or back of the shirt. With a custom designed quilt, I can use the front, back or both sides. I can also incorporate smaller sleeve graphics or patches as desired.

Should I cut the shirts prior to sending them?

No, just send the shirts as they are. This will provide me the maximum options for your quilt design.

What forms of payment do you accept?

In addition to cash, I can accept payment via check or money order. If paying by check, please allow time for your funds to clear.

What is included in the cost?

The price of your quilt will depend on how large your quilt is and what type of quilt you want made.  After receiving your shirts, I will contact you with an estimate for your quilt. A 50% deposit is required before any work will be started. The remaining balance will be due upon the completion of the quilt. The estimates will include ALL labor and ALL materials, including any fabrics, sashing, batting and backing. Return shipping cost will also be included in your estimate.

How do I get started?

Just print and fill out the order form and send with your shirts/clothing and I'll handle the rest. I will contact you after reviewing your information to discuss options and an estimate for your quilt. Of course, you can contact me at any time with questions you may have.
